When she left her husband for this abuse she had to go to the "Elders" and report it. Then the "Elders" have to do investigations. It is like their own little club. They work their way up the ranks to become elders and then they get to control these poor peoples lives. This religion sprang from ONE Guy's interpretation of the bible, and my first question to him is, who was he to decipher the bible as he did? But he did, and then people listened to what he had to say and they swallowed it hook, line, and sinker. Back to this girl: She was beaten. Her husband would punch her in the face for committing the hidious crime of not taking the correct road home when she was driving HIS sorry drunk butt home. He would hold knnives to her throat, wrap towels around her neck and choke her, put pillows over her face and smother her, take her by the hair and beat her face against the tub and toilet. He hogtied her several times and put her in the closet and beat her back with a belt. So this girl is a Witness. I asked her why? What other religion had she been exposed to? She admitted, "none". She is a witness because her PARENTS are witnesses. And they are witnesses because GRANDMA is, and always has been a witness! They are brainwashed and tought "the way" from the time they are just little. So now this girl is having fits because the elders say she, even though she was getting the hell beat out of her, will not be able to be divorced in "Jehovah's " eyes, unless he commits adultry. Now isnt that just the berries? You can be beaten and tortured, but jehovah says that the woman is supposed to take that? I have some real choice words for that posture, but since i am speaking about a religious subject i wont say it. So this girl is all sad because she will "never be able to marry a "witness man". I say to her "WHO WOULD WANT ONE! How did THIS ONE turn out for you?". But, it is what she wants... so......
